Electroplating for aluminum and zinc die casting products
Electroplating is a popular surface treatment for aluminum and zinc even magnesium die casting products with various kinds. As per different plating material, electroplating can be divided to most common chrome plating, nickel plating and copper plating, and rare and expensive titanium plating, silver plating and gold plating. However for aluminum and zinc plating, the most popular plating kinds are nickel plating and chrome plating.

Nickel plating for die casting products
Nickel plating can be divided to pearl nickel plating, black nickel plating, mat nickel plating, bright nickel plating and brush nickel plating, is a very popular plating for aluminum and zinc die casting products.
Nickel is an expensive kind of metal, thus the thickness of nickel layer decides the cost of any kind of nickel plating. For common decoration purpose, a 7-8 micrometers nickel layer is enough, but for some die cast part subject to abrasion, the thickness may be increased to 17-20 micrometer. So when you ask for quotation for plating, the clarified coating thickness is the initial information we need.
Chrome plating for die casting products
Chrome plated die casting products have very bright surface, so that it is always featured as bright chrome plating. Chrome plating only have two types, nature chrome plating and black chrome plating. The only difference between them is the different surface color.
Chrome plating is mostly used for die cast wheel hubs and decoration parts. The brightness of plated die casting surface requires good casting surface.Thus we commonly use large tonnage die casting machine to cast the plating products.
Copper plating for die casting products
Copper plating have two especially fancy types, one of which is imitation gold plating and the other is ancient copper plating. Both of these tow copper plating's are used for decoration purpose and mostly for zinc die casting products.
Besides, copper plating can also be used as priming for other kinds of plating particularly nickel plating. Copper plating is rarely used for aluminum die casting parts.
