Another reason for the popularity of die cast work is its low production cost. The advantage of suited mass production capacity can make a die cast artwork with very low unit price. Typical features of die cast artworks
Die cast artworks always have nonregular contours and shapes. Thus their die casting molds are always required to be processed by special spark machining and further electrical polishing. Most die cast artworks involve surface treatments such as electroplating, mirror polishing, painting and powder coating. Those fancy surface treaments can carry out various surface appearance for die casting parts.
Most used die casting alloys for artworks
The most used die casting metals for die cast artworks are zinc, aluminum and copper alloys. Die casting zinc alloy is the heaviest alloy compared with other two alloys of same volume. Thus zinc die cast artworks are always felt heavy, as is preferred by men who are creazy for metal heavy feeling. Aluminum die cast artworks can have light weight and bright surface like stainless steel which are widely used in clothing decoration. Copper alloy, especially brass die cast artwork is preferred by someone whith classical aesthetic sense. Copper die cast artworks can be polished and plated to achiever fancy appearance.
Post treatments for die cast artworks
Sometimes, in order to achiever desired art effect, we are trying to test lots of post treatments for die cast artworks. However there are some common ones preferrable and accpeted by customers.
