Aluminum and zinc die cast furniture series
Aluminum and zinc die castings are widely used as furniture parts such as hinge, door handle, door knob, arm rest and brackets etc. Compared with demanding industrial products, such die cast furniture parts are quire simple and plain. Most of them don't have tight tolerance fitting, as saves post machining. However as for decoration purpose, such as die cast furniture parts are always required for surface finish like mirror polishing, electroplating, painting and powder coating etc.
Parsion die casting foundry has two sets of 280 tons cold chamber die casting machines, which are preferable for casting common furniture parts. Furthermore, we have established cooperation relationship with several surface treatment factories around our factory, which can professionally process mirror polishing, plating, powder coating, and painting.
Characters of die cast furniture parts
Fine corrosion resistance: compared with iron or carbon steel furniture parts, aluminum or zinc die cast furniture parts have much better corrosion resistance. Besides, no matter aluminum or zinc die cast furniture parts can be electroplated or coated by other surface treatments, as improve surface corrosion resistance of die cast furniture parts.
Mass production & low unit price: Aluminum hot chamber die casting process or zinc hot chamber die casting process have much larger yield than other casting processes such as sand casting , investment casting or gravity casting. With mass production, the unit price of die cast furniture products can be much cheaper and more competitive than that by other casting process.
Easy surface finish: Aluminum and zinc alloy have shiny nature color, and can be preserved easily with simple surface treatment such as chromating or phosphating. And they can also be further decorated by mirror polishing and fancy plating, such as imitation gold plating, blue titanium plating.
Cheap and light alloy: Mirror polished aluminum and zinc die castings have similar appearance to stainless steel parts, but with lighter weight. On the other hand, for common furniture parts, aluminum or zinc alloy are much preferable because they are cheaper than stainless steel.
Notes for die cast furniture parts
Mirror polished die cast furniture parts:Special attention should be paid for mirror polished die cast furniture parts while die casting. The nature disadvantage of high pressure die casting process is its high porosity. If the porosity trouble can be controlled good, the die casting's surface has lots of pin holes, then mirror polishing can't be proceed any more. There are two effective solutions for this trouble, one of which is using large tonnage machine to cast furniture parts that commonly are cast by smaller machines, while the other is to clean the melting pot carefully and add dreg-cleaning solvent regularly while casting.
protection packaging while transportation: because aluminum or zinc die cast furniture parts always require surface treatments, so that they will be transported between surface treatment fact roy and casting foundry. And aluminum and zinc alloy are quite soft or subject to scratch during transportation. Therefore making special packaging to protect die cast work piece is necessary and economical rather than leading to high rejection rate.
