Die cast coupling and adaptors for hose and pipe joining
Hose coupling is a metal piece on the end of a hose to connect it to extra hose or hose appliances. It is usually made of steel or brass, however for the low cost of aluminum alloy, it is now much preferred to cast them with aluminum alloys, usually for some no air pressure couplings.Die cast hose couplings are widely used in fire fighting, agriculture, oil field, marine and other industries. There are various kinds of die cast hose couplings, such as quick couplings or camlock couplings, cam and groove couplings, storz couplings and guillemin couplings or French style couplings.
Custom die cast hose couplings
A.high volume but low cost Compared with aluminum sand casting and gravity casting, aluminum die casting can produce precision parts in high volume at low costs.
B.good surface finish and good dimensional accuracy Aluminum die casting generally has good surface finish and good dimensional accuracy. For many parts, post-machining can be totally eliminated, or very light machining may be required to bring dimensions to size.
Hose coupling fittings
Hose couplings always involve some particular fittings, such as rubber seal, gaskets, steel rings, pins and locking arms. We have long-term reliable sub-suppliers to provide all these fittings.
Watertight and pressure test
Raw castings can be processed by X-ray inspection to avoid inner casting defects or porosities. After assembly, initial parts are to have a water pressure test. Only those can pass tests, will be delivered to our customers.
Hose coupling types based on different structure
1.Storz coupling: A "quarter turn coupling", or "sexless coupling", commonly used to connect to fire hydrants, easy to connect, no particular male or female end, locks are on inside of coupling.
2.Nakajima coupling: Another "quarter turn" or "sexless" coupling, similar to Storz coupling, but not used as often. Main difference between these and Storz are that this has locks on the outside.
3.NST coupling:The most common type of coupling. The male and female threads screw together.
4.Guillemin symmetrical clutch:The Guillemin symmetrical clutch is widely used in France. It is the coupling used by the French firefighters. It can be fastened by hand, but it is also possible to use a tricoise wrench. It is also "quarter turn" and "sexless"(symmetrical). Each end has a ring with two protuberances outside; when the ring turns, the protuberances lock to the hook of the other hose.
5.Barcelona coupling:It is the coupling used by the Spanish firefighters. It is the obligatory sistem in Spain for firefighting. The male and female threads screw together.
